MY DAD
I miss my dad this time each year,
I don't know why these thoughts appear.
It's been a very long time since he's been around,
But thoughts of his smile linger in a picture or a sound.
He was, at times, very quiet and sad,
But many times he was joyful and glad.
There were things he would say to make me feel better,
Things one couldn't write in just a letter.
It's the little things I miss most of all,
Him in my life to catch me when I fall.
I do feel his presence though many times,
Through a song, my children and even signs.
So while I miss my dad this time each year,
I know his spirit is always near.
My tears of joy and sorrow too,
Help me live my life anew.

SOULMATES IN HEAVEN
It was love at first sight,
One that would last forever.
In the beginning, they knew it was special,
not one that would ever
die.
While here on earth, all it took was for one
simple glance
To know for sure to take a chance.
They would dance, sing and hold hands;
Share the same hopes and dreams and share a
Future together.
They knew it was special, not one that would ever
die.
Sadly, he died a few years before her,
She never remarried for her soul was with him.
I believe they are still together in heaven for sure,
For soulmates in heaven begin here on earth.
